Mooka Ralway 9600 House Museum

This museum is at the home of the Mooka (Mo'oka) Railway. Both the museum building and the adjacent station are built in the shape of steam locos. As well as the museum the railway runs steam trains on its main line most weekends (in 2016 at 10:35 from Shimodate, 14:26 from Motegi).

Location

This museum is near Tokyo, next to Mooka station on the Mooka Railway between Shimodate (JR East's Mito Line) and Motegi.

List of Rolling Stock

The following locomotives are on display:
49671 (9600 class loco moved three times daily on weekends and holidays by compressed air), D51 146, DE10 104,
plus Kiha 20 DMU, a carriage and wagons.
The railway operates steam trains with C12 66 and C11 325.

Other Facilities

Cafe and shop, model and play area.

Opening

Daily 10:00 to 18:00. Closed on Tuesday (Wednesday if Tuesday a holiday) and at new year. Entry free.
